Carissimi Soci e Amici,
dopo un paio di giorni per tirare il fiato provo a fare un bilancio del meraviglioso weekend a Primolano.
Domenica sera contando le liberatorie abbiamo stimato che la Rimessa è stata visitata da circa 1200 persone di tutte le età. La cosa che ci è stata molto gradita è che molti visitatori erano i bambini che rimanevano letteralmente incantati davanti alla 880.
Inutile dire che assistere al transito della ALn772 e della 625 a fianco della rimessa e della 880 ci ha emozionato non poco.
I lavori di preparazione sono stati molto faticosi ma il risultato parla da solo.
Altro aspetto molto importante è che molti amministratori locali e regionali hanno potuto vedere cosa stiamo facendo concretamente suscitando molto interesse. Sono già stati fissati appuntamenti per parlare dello sviluppo del progetto dell’area e prossimamente verremo inseriti nella rete museale della Provincia di Vicenza.
Per l’ennesima volta (sempre che ce ne sia bisogno…) è stata riconfermata la validità del progetto di SVF e i riscontri sono stati più che positivi.
Un ringraziamento speciale va a tutti i soci che hanno partecipato all’evento sabato e/o domenica e a tutti gli altri soci che hanno lavorato sodo nei weekend precedenti alla preparazione e messa in sicurezza dell’area.
Un particolare grazie a Luca Trentin che ha passato ben cinque giorni consecutivi a Primolano rientrando a casa solo lunedì pomeriggio dopo la supervisione del “rientro” in rimessa della 880.
Un arrivederci a Primolano a tutti i soci che non sono ancora venuti a vedere la “nostra” 880 e che, speriamo, si uniscano agli operativi per partecipare ai lavori.

Dearest fellows and friends,
after a couple of days to regain my breath, let me try to do a balance of the wonderful week end in Primolano.
After counting the waivers of responsibility on Sunday evening we can estimate that about 1200 persons of all ages visited the Shed. What pleased us most is that many visitors were children that stood delighted in front of 880.
No need to explain what emotion it was to see the ALn772 and the 625 passing side by side the shed and the 880.
Preparatory works were very tiring, but the result does not require more words.
Another important aspect is that several local and regional public officers were able to see what we are actually do ad were really interested. We already agreed meetings to discuss about the area project development and in the future we will enter the museum network of the Province of Vicenza.
Once more the SVF proved valid (if still this proof is needed) and we got more than positive feedback.
A big thank to all the members who were involved in the event Saturday and/or Sunday and to all the fellows who worked hard to prepare and secure the area in the previous week ends.
A very special thank to Luca Trentin who spent five consecutive days
in Primolano, returning home only on Monday afternoon, after supervising the return in the shed of the 880.
A wish to see you soon in Primolano goes to all the members that still did not come to see "our" 880 and that will hopefully join the working fellows.

Il 24 e 25 luglio 2010 SVF, in occasione dei cent’anni dall’inaugurazione dell’ultimo tratto della Bassano-Primolano, ha aperto al pubblico la Rimessa Locomotive di Primolano.

For the centennial of the opening of the last stretch of the Bassano-Primolano line and of the former cross-border line from Primolato to Tezze, SVF opened the locomotive shed to visitors.

Non deve più sognare! Ora la 880 è a casa! Il 17 luglio 2010 la 880 001 è finalmente giunta alla Rimessa Locomotive di Primolano.

Oggi la Rimessa Locomotive di Primolano, di proprietà di RFI e in comodato d’uso all’Associazione di Promozione Sociale Società Veneta Ferrovie, è stata visitata dall’Ambasciatore Australiano presso la Santa Sede TIM FISHER e dall’industriale e consulente ferroviario inglese WILLIAM PARKER. I due ospiti, noti appassionati di ferrovie a livello internazionali e impegnati nella preservazione del patrimonio archeologico ferroviario, sono rimasti molto colpiti dall’impianto che SVF sta ripristinando nella frazione di Cismon del Grappa, sia per la struttura stessa dell’impianto che può essere sviluppato per il rimessaggio del costituendo Treno Storico Veneto, sia per la possibilità di collegamento alla linea della Valsugana/Val Brenta per l’effettuazione di treni d’epoca programmati; Tim Fisher ha dichiarato che l’area della Rimessa Locomotiva di Primolano non ha nulla di meno rispetto ad alcuni Musei Ferroviari Vivi della Gran Bretagna.. All’incontro era presente il Dott. Luca Ferazzoli, sindaco di Cismon del Grappa e presidente della Comunità Montana del Brenta, il sig. Silvio Cinquini, segretario della Federazione Italiana Ferrovie Turistiche e Museali (FIFTM), la sig.na Elisa Dallagnol, vicepresidente dell’Associazione “Tagliata della Scala” che è una delle associazioni locali partner di SVF, e il sig. Marco Grigoletto, titolare della Fanini Trasporti di Padova, il partner logistico dell’associazione per il trasporto dei rotabili. La Rimessa Locomotive di Primolano sarà visitabile sabato 24 e domenica 25 luglio 2010 dalle ore 9,00 alle ore 18,00.
Tim Fisher è, dal 21 luglio 2008, Ambasciatore dell’Australia presso la Santa Sede. Dal 1984 al 2001 è stato deputato al parlamento Australiano e tra il 1996 e il 1999 ha ricoperto la carica di vice primo ministro. Ritiratosi dalla politica a 55 anni, ha continuato a coltivare la sua passione per le ferrovie e a perorare l’utilizzo del treno: tra l’altro è stato uno dei fautori dell’apertura della ferrovia da Alice Springs a Darwin nel 2004, concludendo un progetto che era iniziato 130 anni prima per unire Adelaide, nel sud, alla più grande città del nord australiano.
William Parker è titolare della The Flour Mills ltd. Consulente di Fedecrail, è proprietario di un’officina specializzata nel restauro delle locomotive a vapore: l’ultimo lavoro svolto è la replica della Rocket, la prima locomotiva moderna di successo commerciale al mondo, realizzata da Stephenson per la ferrovia Liverpool-Manchester nel 1829. Uno dei suoi maggiori clienti è il Museo Ferroviario di York, uno dei principali siti museali al mondo, noto anche per essere un museo “vivo” ovvero con alcune locomotive che possono lasciare il sito ed effettuare treni lungo le linee ferroviarie britanniche.

Today, TIM FISHER – the Australian Ambassador to the Holy See – and WILLIAM PARKER – industrialist and railway consultant – visited the Primolano Locomotive Shed, owned by RFI and loaned for use to the Social Promotion Society "Società Veneta Ferrovie". The two guests, railway enthusiast of international renown and involved in the preservation railway archaeological heritage, were duly impressed by the facility both for its structure and for the possible link to the Valsugana/Valbrenta railway line: the structure is suitable to become the shed of the future "Treno Storico del Veneto" and the link to the railway enables the staging of scheduled trains with preserved rolling stock. Tim Fisher declared that the Locomotive Shed area in Cismon del Grappa hamlet does not lack anything from some live museums in Great Britain.
The visit was attended by: Mr. Luca Ferazzoli, Cismon major and president of Comunità Montana del Brenta, Mr. Silvio Cinquini, FIFTM secretary (FIFTM: Federazione Italiana Ferrovie Turistiche e Museali – Italian federation of touristic and museal railways),
Miss Elisa Dallagnol, deputy chairman of the "Tagliata della Scala" society – an association partner to SVF, and Mr. Marco Grigoletto, owner of "Fanini Trasporti" in Padua – SVF logistic partner for rollng stock moving.
The Locomotive Shed in Primolano will be open for visit on Saturday July 24th and Sunday July 25th from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Tim Fisher is the Australian Ambassador to the Holy See since July 21st, 2008. He was member of the Australian Parliament from 1984 to 2001 and Deputy Prime Minister from 1996 to 1999. He retired from politics at 55 and continued to cultivate is love for railways and promote the use of train: among other things he was one of the supporters if the Alice Springs-Darwin line in 2004, ending the project started 130 years before to connect Adelaide, in the South, to the largest city in the Australian North.
William Parker owns The Flour Mills ltd. A Fedecrail consultant, owns a workshop dedicated to restoring steam locomotives. The last completed project is a replica of The Rocket engine, the first modern and successful steam locomotive in the world, build by Stephenson for the Liverpool-Manchester railway in 1829. One of his largest customers is the York Railway Museum, one of the primary museum in the world and famous for being a “live” museum, with engines that can leave the site to pull trains on other British lines..

Lo scorso 30 maggio 2010, dopo alcune prove nei mesi scorsi, ed una mattinata di intenso lavoro, un gruppetto di irriducibili volontari (Giovanni, Carlo e Mauro) hanno sbloccato la piattaforma girevole della Rimessa Locomotive di Primolano. La giratura ha fatto correre la memoria ai fasti del vapore, dove 625 e 740 (queste ultime con taglio del tender) venivano girate per tornare a Trento o a Venezia. La piattaforma gira perfettamente e senza tentennamenti; ora si passerà al restauro estetico.
Nelle foto i soci Giovanni e Carlo durante l’effettuazione del giro d’onore, coaudiuvati da Gian Uberto giunto a godersi lo spettacolo a lavori finiti.

In occasione dei cento anni dell’inaugurazione dell’ultimo tratto della Bassano-Primolano e della tratta transfrontaliera (allora) Primolano-Tezze l’associazione Società Veneta Ferrovie aprirà le porte della Rimessa Locomotive di Primolano, sede del costituendo Treno Storico Veneto. Presso l’impianto sarà esposta la locomotiva a vapore 880 001. L’accesso, tra le ore 9 e le ore 18 e previa dichiarazione liberatoria da redigere sul posto, potrà avvenire esclusivamente dall’accesso stradale posto in via Broli (a 500 metri dalla stazione in direzione Venezia, lungo via Circonvallazione): in stazione sarà presente un punto info di SVF.

The shed is the home of the future “Treno Storico Veneto”. The locomotive 880.001 will be on exibit in front of the shed. Visitors will be able to access the area from 9 AM to 6 PM solely from the gate in Broli street and will be required to singi a waiver of responsibility. The gate is 500 meters away from the railway station following Circonvallazione street towards Venice. An SVF info point will be located in the station.
